I’m genuinely enjoying being sad in this hotel room,
the shade of sadness that lifts your heart over its head,
sings sympathetic hymns in a dead language,
places a hand on your shoulder, promises
this will never actually get any better, but
some of it will feel worth it.
Certain moments will brighten you blind,
even when your eyes are closed.
People will feel very connected, brought together,
as they cry and hug each other at your funeral.
